Today we are reading Romans 9. in this chapter we read about Paul’s anxiety of the failure of Israel to believe in Jesus. The keyword for this chapter is “a-nath-e-ma”. The definition is “a thing or person devoted to destruction, accursed”. More specifically, it refers to a person under God’s divine curse. Paul uses the word like this, “For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh.” Romans 9:3 Paul grieves the fact that his brother Jews have rejected Jesus. He knows that their unbelief will result in eternal punishment. Are you grieving someone who does not believe? Pray for them! May God give you His heart for the lost! Pastor Tim
