Today my niece starts the journey of only ~200 people on the intestinal transplant list in the US. This is multifactorial; the difficulty of the procedure, only a handful of centers in the US have the experience and ability to offer a Gut Rehab and Transplant clinic option. She is a young mother of two and has run out of options.
