Luke 9

Today we are reading Luke 9. In this chapter we read about Jesus Transfiguration and other stories which conclude His ministry in Galilee. Now He is headed for Jerusalem.“When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make preparations for him. But the people did not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem.” Luke‬ ‭9:51-53‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus “set His face” for Jerusalem. This phrase indicates His firm resolve to go and die for our sins. Imagine if Jesus was indecisive, “I’m not sure if I want to go through all that suffering…” It is His firm resolve that carried Him through as the one and only Savior. What have you resolved to do? How does your firm resolve fulfill Jesus’ command to love God and love your neighbors? May God give you the strength of the Holy Spirit to set your face toward love! Pastor Tim
