Today we are reading 1 Corinthians 4. In this chapter Paul writes about what it means to be an apostle. The keyword for this chapter is “hu-per-e-tays”. The definition is “minister, assistant, attendant, a helper who willingly submits himself to the carrying out of the will of the one over him”. Paul uses this word to describe his role among the Corinthians. “This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.” 1 Corinthians 4:1 Paul has willingly given himself as a helper to the Corinthians. He is helping them understand the Gospel and the role he, as their spiritual father, is called by God to play. How are you like Paul in this regard? What role has God called you to fulfill?
