Today we are reading Philippians 1. In this first chapter of Philippians Paul writes about the impact of his imprisonment on his work to preach the Gospel. The keyword for this chapter is “pro-kop-tay”. The definition is “cutting forward, advance, progress, furtherance.” “I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel,” Philippians 1:12 How did the Gospel advance or cut forward even though Paul was in prison? Have you ever seen a negative in your life turn into a positive for the Gospel? What negatives are you dealing with right now? How might God use them to open doors for the Gospel?
