Today we are reading Matthew 11. In this chapter we read about Jesus teaching the crowds. The keyword for this chapter is “a-na-pau-o”. The definition is “to cause to rest, to give rest, to refresh.” “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”” Matthew 11:28-30 As you go through your days and weeks, how often do you wish you could rest? Jesus was speaking to a typical crowd of hard-working people. They were struggling to survive. To them “rest” sounded wonderful! How do you find rest? When you are refreshed what thoughts come to mind? As we come to Jesus in our devotion time He refreshes our souls. May God bless you with the right amount of rest from your heavy burdens.
