Today we are reading Isaiah 62. In this chapter we read about God’s promises of blessing and prosperity for Israel. “Go through, go through the gates; prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway; clear it of stones; lift up a signal over the peoples. Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, “Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.” And they shall be called The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.” Isaiah 62:10-12 ESV In the early 19th century the Federal Government built the National Road. This 620 mile travel corridor connected the Potomac and Ohio River valleys and made it possible for many people to migrate west. In this chapter we from Isaiah we read God’s direction to prepare the way for people to come to Jerusalem. This is equivalent to helping people come to know Jesus and experience all His gifts. What can you do to help prepare the way? Who can you reach out to to? With the recent warm weather we are seeing more neighbors up and down our street. As you take time to say “hello”, share the hope that is in you! Pastor Tim
