Isaiah 47

Today we are reading Isaiah 47. In this chapter we read about God humbling the Babylonians. “Our Redeemer—the Lord of hosts is his name— is the Holy One of Israel. Sit in silence, and go into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for you shall no more be called the mistress of kingdoms. I was angry with my people; I profaned my heritage; I gave them into your hand; you showed them no mercy; on the aged you made your yoke exceedingly heavy.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭47:4-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Here we read how God used Babylon to crush his people for worshiping false gods. The problem is that the Babylonian armies got carried away and were especially cruel to God’s people. Now God would crush them! Have you ever found yourself a little too pleased with the downfall of the wicked? Make sure that your words and even your thoughts are pleasing in God’s sight. Pastor Tim
