Today we are reading Hebrews 9. In this chapter we read a comparison of the ministry of the High Priest to the work of Jesus. “But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.” Hebrews 9:11-12 ESV So, the high priest would make sacrifices for himself and the people once a year. Jesus, on the other hand, sacrificed himself once for all. For all people. For all sins. For all time. No need to repeat! Imagine the uncertainty of not knowing if your sins were forgiven or waiting a whole year for that one day when the high priest made the sacrifice. We have peace with God through Jesus. May God bless you to be a person of peace! Pastor Tim
