2 Samuel 9

Today we are reading 2 Samuel 9. In this chapter we read about David’s kindness to Mephibosheth. “And Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, son of Saul, came to David and fell on his face and paid homage. And David said, “Mephibosheth!” And he answered, “Behold, I am your servant.” And David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan, and I will restore to you all the land of Saul your father, and you shall eat at my table always.”” 2 Samuel‬ ‭9:6-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬ David always respected and honored Saul. He also had a close friendship with Saul’s son Jonathan. Now, in their memory, David shows kindness to the crippled son/grandson Mephibosheth. In my years of ministry, I have strived to stay in contact with those who have lost loved-ones. I check in on them and make sure they are okay. How do you show kindness to those around you? May God help you to have compassion on the “Mephibosheth” in your life! Pastor Tim
