Today we are reading 1 Corinthians 8. In this chapter we read about doing what is best for our “brother”. The keyword is “tup-to”. The definition is, “to wound, to strike with the fist, staff, whip”. “Thus, sinning against your brothers and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ. Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.” 1 Corinthians 8:12-13 The word of God is clear. Our concern for our brother’s spiritual well-being should affect our behavior. If I do anything that causes my brother to be wounded spiritually then I am sinning. How have you been wounded spiritually? How have you wounded others? May God strengthen your faith so that you may live in a way that pleases God and blesses your brother! Pastor Tim
