Today we are reading 1 Corinthians 6. In this chapter Paul continues his strong language condemning sexual immorality. The keyword for this chapter is “na-os”. The definition is “temple, the dwelling place of God, the inner sanctuary itself. An illusion to the Temple in Jerusalem or to the temple of Aphrodite near Corinth.” Paul uses this concept to make the point that sexual immorality has no place in the life of a believer. “Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 The word of God urges us to “flee sexual immorality”. How do you do this in your daily life? What can you do to protect yourself from sexual sin? How does sexual sin harm you? How does obedience to God bless you? May God give you a desire to glorify Him with your body! Pastor Tim
