Hope for Legacy (Johnson)

The website living-on-purpose.net defines a person’s personal legacy as, “Your Personal Legacy is more than simply a statement of how you wish to be remembered after you pass on. It is something that enriches your life and reveals you and what your life is about to your family, friends, and your community. ... Live a life that serves as an example of what an exceptional life can look like.” The reason I share that with you is because I feel more and more people are worried about what their personal legacy will be. How will they be remembered and what was the sum total of their life about? In Luke 2:22-38 we are introduced to Simeon and we learn that what Simeon wanted the most was to meet the Savior. Simeon is said to have been righteous & devout but the legacy he leaves for us to remember him by is that He wanted to see Jesus, meet Jesus, and then He could die a happy man. We are reminded this week that Jesus is our only Hope to an exceptional life, enriched life and a life that leaves an eternal legacy.
