Why we give.
Jesus makes the claim in Matthew 6:21 that our hearts are unavoidably connected to our money. God doesn’t need our money, but he wants our hearts and so he invites us to connect our money to Him through giving. Giving allows us to demonstrate to God that He is more important to us than material things and that our hearts belong to Him. It’s easy and quick to give online whether it’s a one time gift or a recurring gift. There is no better investment you can make with your giving than the local church!
What is the Tithe?
For Christians, tithing (a word meaning ‘tenth’) is the starting point. Tithing is giving the first 10% of our income back to the local church. If you call Gloria Dei home, we encourage you to give generously, knowing that your money is being used to support the mission of Jesus Christ – both here in central Iowa and around the world.

Ways To Give
Give Online
In the box to the right fill out your own giving information and follow the prompts to give online. If you need assistance, call the church office.
Give In Person
Offering buckets and baskets are passed around each service where you may drop in your offering. You may also drop off your tithe to the church office.
Mail A Check
You may mail a check to the Gloria Dei Office by addressing it to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 8301 Aurora Ave. Urbandale, IA 50322.
