Today we are reading Zechariah 6. In this chapter we read about a vision regarding horses, a crown and the Temple. Remember the Temple was lying in ruins and the people were discouraged every time they looked at it. “”And those who are far off shall come and help to build the temple of the Lord. And you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. And this shall come to pass, if you will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.””
Zechariah 6:15 ESV The Temple was a source of national pride and a centerpiece of Israel’s spiritual life. When it was looted and destroyed it may the people feel weak and disheartened. So, this prophecy about the rebuilding of the Temple was exciting to the people. Just the thought of a new Temple brought a flicker of hope. As we endure this virus isolation what about this makes you feel weak and disheartened? What would give you hope? As you continue your devotions and prayers may the God of Hope give you the strength to praise Him today and every day! Pastor Tim
