Romans 9

Today we are reading Romans 9. In this chapter we read about how Israel thought they were saved by their obedience to God’s Law and how only faith can save us. “What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith; but that Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law. Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone,”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭9:30-32‬ ‭ESV‬‬ If we were saved on the basis of our performance no person could be saved. All have sinned and fallen short. It is by grace that we are saved and not by our works. How does this give you peace? What is the purpose of obedience to God? What is the impact of your obedience on those around you? May God fill you with the joy of your salvation. Pastor Tim
