Romans 13

Today we are reading Romans 13. The keyword for this chapter is “hu-po-tas-so”. The definition is “to place or rank under, to subject,to obey”. Paul uses this word to describe how we are to relate to those in authority over us. “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Romans‬ ‭13:1‬ ‭This is hard for us to do. Our sinful nature rebels against God and every other authority.  Why? Because God places authority figures in our lives for our good and the devil wants to hinder God’s work so he urges us to rebel like he did. What does this subjection look like in your life? Who has God placed in authority over you? How can you be a blessing to them? May God bless all you serve!  Pastor Tim
