Today we are reading Romans 10. In this chapter we read about how we are saved. “But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
Romans 10:8-10 ESV These verses underscore the importance of articulating the message of salvation. We are not saved by joining a church. We are not saved by doing loving things. We are saved by believing and confessing—believing in Jesus as our Savior and that He died for our sins, and and confessing our sins and our faith. We join a Bible-believing church because we believe. We do loving things because we have experienced Jesus’ love. May you be filled with the joy of your salvation! Pastor Tim
