Today we are reading Romans 1. Paul’s letter to the church in Rome is a meaty and forceful epistle that addresses many of the main doctrines of Christianity. In this first chapter Paul boldly confronts the pagan immorality in Rome. The keyword for this chapter is “e-pai-sku-no-mai”. The definition is “to be ashamed”. Paul uses this word to describe how he feels about the Gospel, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16 Paul is not ashamed of the Gospel, even though many have wandered from the faith, Paul would rather die than abandon the Gospel. How do you feel about sharing your faith? When are you uncomfortable speaking the Gospel? May God give you His Holy Spirit to help you speak His word unhindered by your fears! Pastor Tim
