Revelation 1

Today we are reading Revelation 1. In this chapter we read about John receiving the revelation from God about what must soon take place. “I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet saying, “Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1:9-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God had a special message for the seven churches. We benefit by reading this message because it applies to all Christians. This dramatic experience was both terrifying and wonderful for John. He lived during a time of intense persecution and yet he continued to be a bold witness for Jesus. How have our troubling times influenced your faith? How do you stay strong spiritually? What message could you share to encourage others? May God keep you faithful and true. Pastor Tim
