Today we are reading Psalm 85. In this psalm we read about a plea for God’s forgiveness, restoration and revival. “Lord, you were favorable to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of your people; you covered all their sin. Selah You withdrew all your wrath; you turned from your hot anger. Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us! Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations? Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?” Psalm 85:1-6 ESV Forgiveness, Restoration and Revival—which of these do we need most? We all need to have our sins forgiven. God gives that to us freely in Jesus’ name. Restoration was a desperate prayer for Israel after they were devastated by an enemy. How do we need restoration? For starters, we need to be cleansed from the gross immorality that is dominating our society and education system. We need to be restored to the Christian foundation of our founding fathers. Revival is much needed by every main-line denomination. There are dwindling church numbers and a huge shortage of pastors. Receive us Lord! How can you be part of the revival? May Gods raise you up to do great things in Jesus’ name! Pastor Tim
