Psalm 83

Today we are reading Psalm 83. In this psalm we read about the people of Israel calling on God to act and speak. “O God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God! For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads. They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones. They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”” Psalm‬ ‭83:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Some years ago I had a conversation with my nephew about his walk with the Lord. I asked him if he still believed in God. He said, “I do, but sometimes I wonder where He is.” When all around us is darkened by sin, we can lose sight of God and His ways. We may have doubts as to whether God is involved or aware of our struggles. These are the thoughts of the psalm writer. Where are you at with your confidence in God? How have you stayed close to Him during discouraging times? Is there someone you know that is having a particularly difficult time? May God use you to help someone stay connected to Him! Pastor Tim
