Today we are reading Psalm 76. In this psalm we read about the awesomeness of God! “Glorious are you, more majestic than the mountains full of prey. The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; all the men of war were unable to use their hands. At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned. But you, you are to be feared! Who can stand before you when once your anger is roused? From the heavens you uttered judgment; the earth feared and was still, when God arose to establish judgment, to save all the humble of the earth. Selah” Psalm 76:4-9 ESV Try to imagine what the psalm writer was looking at when he wrote those words… Was he simply viewing creation or watching an impressive army? His confidence is this—that no matter how mighty the army or impressive the view—God is more majestic! What do you see today as you view the world? God is more majestic. He sits enthroned above the earth! He can crush the mightiest army and bring to ruin the most powerful king. Glorious are you God! Pastor Tim
