Today we are reading Psalm 55. In this psalm we read about casting your burden on the Lord. “My companion stretched out his hand against his friends; he violated his covenant. His speech was smooth as butter, yet war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords. Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:20-22 ESV In this psalm we see that even friends can turn on us. Have you ever experienced that? How did your friend’s betrayal impact your faith? The psalmist urges us to “cast your burden on the Lord”. The imagery is that we are walking along carrying a very heavy burden. Suddenly, a very strong person, or even a pack animal, appears. We give our back-breaking burden to someone who can easily carry it. Instantly, we are relieved! Made God give you instant relief of your burdens today! Pastor Tim
