Psalm 54

Today we are reading Psalm 54. In this psalm we read about God upholding our lives. “O God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might. O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth. For strangers have risen against me; ruthless men seek my life; they do not set God before themselves. Selah Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. He will return the evil to my enemies; in your faithfulness put an end to them.” Psalm‬ ‭54:1-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This psalm shows us that David feared his enemies just as we fear those people and things that threaten us. After expressing his fear in prayer, David rallies himself to trust in God. How are you similar to David in this regard? When you are rattled, do you continue to worry or do you find a wave a reassuring faith wash over you? May God stir up your faith when you face trouble. Pastor Tim
