Today we are reading Psalm 53. In this psalm we read about the corruption of mankind. “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good. God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. There they are, in great terror, where there is no terror! For God scatters the bones of him who encamps against you; you put them to shame, for God has rejected them.” Psalm 53:1-3, 5 ESV When you read these words, how do you react? It seems these words are true for many people, but what about we Christians? Of course we sin, but most believers do not fall away. However, our enemy, the devil, is constantly on the prowl. He wants to take us all down! The last verse is encouraging, “For God scatters the bones of him who encamps against you; you put them to shame.” God protects and preserves us. With God’s help, you put your enemies to shame. Rest in the power of God. Pastor Tim
