Psalm 35

Today we are reading Psalm 35. In this psalm we read about David praying for God to defeat his enemies. “Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me! Take hold of shield and buckler and rise for my help! Draw the spear and javelin against my pursuers! Say to my soul, “I am your salvation!” Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek after my life! Let them be turned back and disappointed who devise evil against me! Let them be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the Lord driving them away!” Psalm‬ ‭35:1-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Have you ever needed help against someone who wanted to do you harm? What did you do? This side of Heaven, the worst anyone can do is take our life. Our eternal life is secure. Even so, we don’t want to suffer. God is compassionate and hears our cries for mercy. While our troubles might be temporary, His love is ever-lasting! Pastor Tim
