Today we are reading Psalm 32. In this psalm we read about how blessed it is to be forgiven. “Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.” Psalm 32:1-2, 5 ESV It seems there is our sin and then in addition, there is the iniquity of our sin. While I am not sure what this means, a possible explanation could be this: our sin + the awfulness of our sin. Regardless, God forgives everything about our sin. As we surrender to Him He takes away our guilt and turns the awfulness into an opportunity to learn and grow so that we might teach others. He can also replace the failure of our sin with a missionary zeal to help others who have also fallen. May God use His forgiveness to bless you and those around you! Pastor Tim
