Today we are reading Psalm 22. In this psalm we read about David feeling abandoned by God. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest.” Psalm 22:1-2 ESV These words were spoken by Jesus on the cross. When have you felt forsaken by God? Jesus was “forsaken” for us. As He suffered for our sins He endured the punishment we deserve—to be forsaken by God. Jesus suffered in our place so that we might never experience being eternally forsaken. What we do experience is a temporary time of pain. In Jesus’ name, it is temporary. In Jesus’ name we call look forward to the unending joy of Heaven! When you go through a period of discouragement or pain remember the joy that is coming! Pastor Tim
