Today we are reading Psalm 14. In this chapter we read about the apparent abundance of evil people. “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.”
Psalm 14:1-3 ESV These words seem so fitting with today’s struggles. It is amazing to understand that David is writing 3,000 years ago! I believe these words have described what has always been the case. So why would God send Jesus into this mess? The answer is, “Because we desperately need Him!” Not just out there in society, here in our hearts as well. We need Jesus desperately because we too struggle with sin. Praise God that David’s psalm is not the final word. God responded to our need and for this we can celebrate every day! May God remind you of His forgiveness today! Pastor Tim
