Psalm 131

Today we are reading Psalm 131. In this psalm we read about finding peace in the Lord. “O Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forevermore.” Psalm‬ ‭131:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ It is always a good idea to have a sober assessment of yourself. If you think too much of yourself you will be blind to your faults. If you think too little of yourself you will lack the conviction to attempt heroic endeavors. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble—so do we. When stop looking for contentment in the approval of others, when we are weaned of our insecurities, we find peace in God. May God show you today that He is enough. Pastor Tim
