Psalm 122

Today we are reading Psalm 122. In this psalm we read about praying for Jerusalem. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you! Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!” For my brothers and companions’ sake I will say, “Peace be within you!” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good.” Psalm‬ ‭122:6-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬ These words were written nearly 3,000 years ago. Should we still pray for Jerusalem? Yes we should. For the people to have peace. For God to be glorified there. For the well-being of God’s people. These are the things we pray for. It is the place where God commanded the Temple to be built to demonstrate His love and mercy. It is the place where Jesus paid for the sins of the world. It is a place rich in the history of God’s relationship with His people. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem today! Pastor Tim
