Psalm 121

Today we are reading Psalm 121. In this psalm we read about God’s ever present help. “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭121:1-2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Have you ever felt alone—that even God was far away? The writer of this psalm is walking along a treacherous path on the edge of a canyon. This is the journey from Jericho to Jerusalem. It was a path known to be frequented by bandits. As the pilgrim walks, he looks up to the top of the hills where the pagans made sacrifices to their false gods. He does not trust in the false gods. He trusts in the one who made the hills—the Creator of the Universe. This God—our God—is always with us. May you see Him today! Pastor Tim
