Proverbs 27

Today we are reading Proverbs 27. In this proverb we read about human praise. “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips. The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, and a man is tested by his praise.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27:1-2, 21‬ ‭ESV‬‬ What is the nicest compliment you have received? Isn’t it fascinating that we hang on to those precious words? When we boast it is a manifestation of our insecurity. When others say nice things about us it is a gift for our soul. How can you give that gift to those closest to you? Pastor Tim
