Today we are reading Philippians 4. In this chapter we read about how God helps us with our anxiety. “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7 ESV The key element that we often miss is, “rejoice”. It is possible to rejoice when we take our focus off of ourselves and put it on Jesus. I have latched on to the expression, “feed your faith, starve your fears”. When I am focused on God—in devotion, in prayer, in praise and in service—then my fears starve. Give that a try today. Start by numbering your blessings. Have a great day! Pastor Tim
