Philemon

Today we are reading Philemon. In this brief letter Paul writes about reconciliation between a slave and his owner. The keyword for this chapter is “en-er-gays”. The definition is “active, effective, productive.” “and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.” Philemon‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭Paul is speaking into the issue between owner and runaway slave by saying when you share your faith effectively you do things differently. You may have the right according to the law to take revenge but what about the law of Christ to love one another? How does the love of God in you change how you do your job?  How does it impact your relationships? How does acting in the flesh make ineffective the sharing of your faith? May God bless you to love as He loves. Pastor Tim
