Today we are reading Micah 5. In this chapter we read a prophecy that refers to the coming of Jesus the Messiah.“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.” Micah 5:2 Think about the circumstances of Micah’s prophecy, the nation is occupied by foreign powers. The people are worshiping false gods. Some people are killed. Others are taken as slaves to a foreign country. Now, in this prophecy, God promises to bring a new messianic king to free them of their enemies and restore peace and prosperity. If God were to send us a messiah, what would you hope he would do? What would deliverance look like for you? How would you respond yo his coming? May God enable you to trust in the One and Only Messiah Jesus! Pastor Tim
