Today we are reading Micah 4. In this chapter we read about God’s promise to restore the broken and disheartened remnant of His people.“In that day, declares the Lord, I will assemble the lame and gather those who have been driven away and those whom I have afflicted; and the lame I will make the remnant, and those who were cast off, a strong nation; and the Lord will reign over them in Mount Zion from this time forth and forevermore. And you, O tower of the flock, hill of the daughter of Zion, to you shall it come, the former dominion shall come, kingship for the daughter of Jerusalem.” Micah 4:6-8 In Israel as you travel through the countryside you can see small towers overlooking pastures. These are from the days when shepherds guarded their flocks night and day from wild animals and thieves. As Micah prophesies he describes the restored people of God as having a safe and secure tower watching over His people. Good government is just that—a source of safety and security established and sustained by God. Let us thank God for the strength of our leaders and the wisdom He has given them to watch over and protect us. Pastor Tim
