Matthew 6

Today we are reading Matthew 6. In this chapter we read the continuation of the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus zeroes in on the struggle of worry. “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew‬ ‭6:31-34‬ ‭
Recently in our online worship I asked everyone to ponder the question, “What concerns you most?” Now I want to go a step further. Why does that concern dominate your thoughts? When you read the words of Jesus He seems almost incredulous, “your Heavenly Father knows that you need them all.” If God knows and will provide our needs the question now becomes, “Do we trust Him?” May God give you the faith of a child today!
