Matthew 3

Today we are reading Matthew 3. In this chapter we read about the ministry of John the Baptist and the Baptism of Jesus. The keyword for this chapter is “kay-rus-so”. The definition is “to proclaim as a herald.” “In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”” Matthew‬ ‭3:1-2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ In those times an appointed person with a strong voice would make public announcements concerning the arrival of dignitaries or new decrees by rulers. John is God’s appointed person to proclaim the coming of Jesus the Messiah! You also are appointed by God to proclaim Jesus. How do you proclaim Jesus to those who need to know Him? What is the result of your faithful proclamation? May God strengthen your voice as you proclaim the great news of Jesus! Pastor Tim
