Matthew 21

Today we are reading Matthew 21. In this chapter we read about Jesus entering Jerusalem. The keyword for this chapter is “poi-e-o”. The definition is “to make, to do, to act rightly, to do well, to produce, to bear”. “Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruits.” Matthew‬ ‭21:43‬ ‭ESV‬‬ In this passage Jesus reprimands the religious leaders for being outwardly religious but inwardly hypocritical. The practice of their religion did not include authentic action. What does your faith produce? If people were to search for evidence of your faith in Jesus, what would they find?  Let’s keep in mind that we are not saved because of what we produce spiritually. On the other hand, “faith without works is dead”. May God in you produce beautiful and abundant fruit! Pastor Tim3
