Matthew 12

Today we are reading Matthew 12. In this chapter Jesus is teaching about true faith and against false religion. “While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:46, 48-50‬ ‭ESV‬‬ By this definition, would Jesus consider you His brother and sister and mother? It would seem that to Jesus, biological connection is secondary to spiritual. With this pandemic we are going through, we are restricted from seeing our spiritual and biological families. Which do you miss more? Back to Jesus’ definition—how are you doing the will of God the Father? May His will be your desire! Pastor Tim
