Today we are reading Mark 8. In this chapter we read about Jesus feeding the 4,000, healing a blind man, Peter’s Confession of Faith and Jesus’ prediction of His death. “And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and after three days rise again. And he said this plainly. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.””
Mark 8:31-33 ESV The disciples had their hearts and minds set on worldly kingdoms. When Jesus predicted His death, this did not agree with their vision of the future. Peter spoke up and revealed that Jesus’ was out of line with their plan. What was Jesus’ reaction? Have you ever felt like Jesus was out of line with your vision of the future? Have you asked God to show you His plan? Knowing that God loves you enough to send Jesus to die for you, do you trust Him to plan your life? May God reveal His beautiful plan for your life today!
