Today we are reading Mark 10. In this chapter we read about Jesus continuing His ministry as He makes His way to Jerusalem. He is most likely traveling along the Jordan River visiting the communities that lay in the river valley. “And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.” Mark 10:13-16 ESV Many times we have read this Scripture passage when we have a baptism. The disciples are annoyed with the children but Jesus is tender and compassionate. Jesus says we must “receive the kingdom like a child”. In what ways is your faith child-like? When are you most challenged to simply trust God? As a parent I remember how my children would believe whatever I said. Do you believe what God says to you? May God give you peace as you trust in Him. Pastor Tim
