Luke 7

Today we are reading Luke 7. In this chapter we read about Jesus healing the centurion’s servant. The keyword for this chapter is “ma-kran”. The definition is “far”. “And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof.” Luke‬ ‭7:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ In this passage Jesus was in close geographic proximity to the house of the Roman Centurion. He was not far from where the sick servant lay suffering. We can infer that the servant’s illness was serious because of the concern his master showed and the response of Jesus’ to their request. We know that Jesus is not far from us. No matter what our troubles are, Jesus is not far. He has promised to be with us and to hear our requests that we make in His name. May you feel the nearness of Jesus now and always. Pastor Tim
