Today we are reading Luke 23. In this chapter we read about Jesus’ crucifixion. The keyword for this chapter is “ex-ou-the-ne-o”. The definition is “to count as nothing, to treat with contempt, to despise”. “The chief priests and the scribes stood by, vehemently accusing him. And Herod with his soldiers treated him with contempt and mocked him. Then, arraying him in splendid clothing, he sent him back to Pilate.” Luke 23:10-11 ESV When you read the definition of today’s word, it seems inconceivable that anyone could look at Jesus and “count Him as nothing”. Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. Have you ever counted Jesus as nothing? Think of how precious you are to Him! You are worth dying for in His eyes! Aren’t you thankful that He does not count you as nothing? May God fill you with the joy of your salvation in Jesus! Pastor Tim
