Luke 17

Today we are reading Luke 17. In this chapter we read about Jesus encounter with the ten lepers. The keyword for this chapter is “dox-ad-zo”. The definition is “to esteem, to glorify, to praise”. “Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.”           Luke‬ ‭17:15-16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ In this familiar story 10 are healed and only 1 comes back to thank Jesus. Notice the physical behavior that goes along with the words of praise—“he fell on his face”—a dramatic display of worship! How do you praise God for your healing from sin? What dramatic physical display accompanies your praise? How did Jesus react to the praise of the Samaritan? What would our worship be like if we all behaved like the Samaritan? How do you think Jesus would react? May you worship the Lord with your whole being! Pastor Tim
