Luke 11

Today we are reading Luke 11. In this chapter we read about Jesus teaching His disciples how to pray, and responds to the various challenges from the religious leaders of the day. The keyword for this chapter is “ek-bal-lo”. The definition is “to throw out, to cast out”. “Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke, and the people marveled. But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons,” Luke 11:14-15 Every time Jesus encounters demons they must submit. As He casts them out the must obey. What does this mean? What does this say about Jesus and His authority? Jesus in another passage gives His disciples authority to cast out demons. As God’s children we too can take authority over demons and cast them out in Jesus’ name! How does this impact your confidence as you face challenges in this life? May God fill you with all boldness and confidence as you proclaim the Gospel.  Pastor Tim
