Luke 10

Today we are reading Luke 10. In this chapter we read about Jesus sending out the 72 and other events in His ministry. The keyword for this chapter is “ther-is-mos”. The definition is “harvest, the act of reaping, referring to the time of harvest, the final judgement”. “And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Luke‬ ‭10:2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When Jesus speaks about the harvest He is not referring to corn or beans. He is referring to people. Every person needs the salvation offered through faith in Jesus. There will come a day when Jesus returns. At that time all will be judged. Believers will receive eternal life in Heaven. Unbelievers will receive eternal suffering. This is the harvest. Our farmers go to great efforts and expense to insure a good harvest. We are the laborers in the harvest whom God chooses to work through to reach the lost. What will you do today to insure a good harvest for Jesus? Pray for laborers in the harvest fields. Pastor Tim
