Jude

Today we are reading Jude. In this brief letter Jude writes about the challenges believers face. The keyword for this chapter is “pros-dek-o-mai”. The definition is “to earnestly expect, to look forward to, to wait for.” “But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.” Jude‬ ‭1:20-21‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The idea here is that you are waiting for something you are absolutely certain will come.  It’s like a fisherman who is certain the big fish will bite! His confidence empowers him to endure patiently. As you wait for the Lord’s return, may God help you to be absolutely certain of His mercy and your eternal reward!  Pastor Tim
